For very first time, slogans in support of ousted president are heard at pro-SCAF rally, eyewitnesses claim.

According to some eyewitnesses and press reports, protesters at a Friday rally held in support of Egypt’s ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) in Cairo’s Abbasiya Square could be heard chanting pro-Mubarak slogans.

It was the first time for slogans in support of ousted president Hosni Mubarak to be heard at a pro-SCAF rally.

Pro-SCAF demonstrators also directed chants against would-be presidential contender Mohamed ElBaradei, newly-elected MP Amr Hamzawy and Tahrir Square protesters in general, including female activists.

"ElBaradei is the enemy of God," some shouted. "ElBaradei and Hamzawy are foreign agents."

A number of journalists have reportedly been attacked by protesters in Abbasiya Square, including reporters from ONTV, Al Jazeera’s live Egypt channel and the BBC.

In Alexandria, meanwhile, a small group of activists staged a pro-SCAF rally in front of Ras El-Teen Palace in the west of the city.
